Organization: Naples Philharmonic Bernstein’s sparkling and witty Overture to Candide, one of the most popular curtain-raisers in the symphonic repertory, opens this wide-ranging program. Next is Brahms’ final composition for orchestra, the innovative Double Concerto for Violin and Cello, a sweeping work known for its dramatic beginning, lyrical and mysterious middle section and gypsy-flavored final movement. The second half of the program will feature Prokofiev’s epic Fifth Symphony, conceived as “a symphony to the greatness of the human spirit,” which the composer considered his finest work. Organization: Broadway Palm Dinner Theater It's 1937 and the Earl of Hareford has died leaving no apparent heir. The family has gathered, eagerly awaiting to hear how the estate will be split. The unlikely heir is commoner, Bill Snibson, a pugnacious Cockney ne'er do-well from Lambeth. Hilarity ensues as the Duchess tries to turn Bill into a proper gentleman.
