January Dinner Theater • Time: 5:30 PM |
| Where:9:00 PM
Cultural Center of Charlotte County • Port Charlotte |
| The Cultural Center's 2010-2011 Dinner Theater Season continues on Wednesday, January 12th with a flavorful meal and a rousing performance of The Chris Michaels Variety Show. Chris' comedic rapport is quick to delight any audience, while impressing musicians who recognize his skill. Whether singing a straight ballad or an original parody, his strong baritone voice has been enjoyed across the country. "Dueling Banjos" fought out by his miniature piccolo banjo and his standard five-string is a well-balanced combat that makes this cliché piece a fresh experience. The eerie sound of the musical saw, a once popular part of any vaudeville review, is brought back to life. The comedy surrounding this vintage "heavy metal music" is a well-received highlight of the act. The bagpipe, complete with "kilt" is an unexpected finale! Chris has opened for Rodney Dangerfield, Johnny Rivers, Lorrie Morgan and Ricky Skaggs.
Our dinner menu includes Tarragon Chicken, Wild Rice, Mediterranean Vegetables and Boston Cream Pie. The meal will also include a tossed salad, roll, iced tea, coffee and water. A cash bar will be available during the meal and in the Theater lobby. The meal will be served at 5:30 in the Conference Center and the show will follow at 7:00 pm in the Theater. Tickets for the dinner and show combination are $20.00 for Cultural Center Members or $23.00 for the general public. Can't come for dinner? Then join us for just the show. Tickets are $8.00 for Cultural Center Members and $9.00 for non-members.

The 1950s and 60s were truly the Golden Era for Las Vegas. The Rat Pack, lounge acts like Louie Prima, glamorous dinner shows with beautiful girls, and Big Bands were at every hotel and casino. With credentials that include performances for royalty, Presidents, and Ambassadors, Carme has done it all. Carme recreates that Golden Era better than any other living entertainer. With a live Big Band on stage, his rich baritone voice, his fun loving impressions, his knack for storytelling, Carme has earned standing ovations from thrilled audiences all over the world.
The Taylors, James and Kathy, are in a class all their own with a comedic ballet routine that has earned them the nickname of The Lucy and Desi of Ballet. This musical, comedic duo appeared in the first season of "Star Search", performed years of cabaret, and then switched to musical comedy in South Florida. With their ballet-style performance, they have made numerous television appearances all over the world, including Live with Regis and Kathy Lee. They have headlined the Andy Williams Theater in Branson, Missouri and the Lido in Paris, France, and they are now traveling the high seas and performing for various cruise lines.
